Girls bring home the Silver!
Five girls from Ashwicke Hall School competed in a football tournament organised to help boost the high-profile This Girl Can campaign which celebrates active women up and down the country and encourages female sport participation.
Hosted at LVS Ascot, the girls competed in a knockout competition and successfully reached the semi-finals thanks to goals in the quarter finals from Aditi Ajgaonkar and Alyssa Justo.
The girls team all received silver medals for reaching the semi-finals.
"The girls played brilliantly! The semi-final was a great game and we did well to win 2 – 0, but then were beaten by the hosts, LVS Ascot in the final. Everyone enjoyed the day and we'll be looking to enter more local sporting fixtures". Oscar Skevington-Postles, PE Teacher.
The football competition was supported by the Independent Schools Association and featured local junior schools in the Under 11 tournament as well as a range of independent schools from across Berkshire and the south of England in the Under 13 and Under 15 events. Two Women’s Super League players were in attendance to offer support and tips to the young competitors.
