School in top 100 for global Maths Challenge

Students at Ashwicke Hall School recently participated in the 2016 Pascal ( for Grade 9), Cayley (for Grade 10) and Fermat (for Grade 11) (PCF) Contests.

These contests are developed and administered by the Center for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC), University of Waterloo, Canada (www.cemc.uwaterloo.ca). More than 62,000 students from over 1500 schools participated in the 2016 PCF contests.

The PCF Contests are an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability and the maths papers provided students with some interesting mathematics to think about.

Twelve of our students from Grade 9 and 10 participated in the 2016 Pascal and Cayley contests. The official results and awards have now been received and the Pascal Team from Ashwicke Hall School ranked among the top 100 schools.

We are extremely proud of our students, we have a tradition of excellence in mathematics at this school.

John Nicholson, School Director.
