The Girls' dormitories have recently undergone complete refurbishment and now have bespoke furniture designed to give each child space and privacy. The Boys' dormitories are due to be completely refurbished in February 2018 and now have a new kitchenette area where boys can prepare their own food and drink.
Each room in the boys’ boarding house has four beds, whereas the girls’ boarding house has between three and five beds to a room, according to the size of the room. Students are allocated to these rooms by age and year group. The only other considerations are the students’ academic strengths and weaknesses, as often, a room can make an ideal study group.
Each student has a bed, desk, chair and lockable wardrobe. Bed linen is changed once a week, and there is a timetable for personal laundry.
Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, one shower and two washbasins. There are also electric sockets for stereos and other devices in all rooms (please note these are UK three-pin socket fixings).
Each dormitory will have 2 PCs with filtered Internet access as well as two telephone extensions which parents can call at an arranged time to speak to their child. Mobile phones are allowed with time restriction on use.
All the rooms are cleaned daily by school staff, Monday to Friday
Each dormitory has a common room with an LCD television, a DVD player and recreational facilities such as a pool table, with two soccer tables in the cafeteria. The televisions all have access to satellite channels which are controlled centrally to ensure appropriateness.
